This interactive game, Contextual Choices, is intended to be used as an educational tool for Social Workers to test their knowledge and understanding of Contextual Theory & how it may be applied in practice.
Contextual Choices was co-created with BSW students from the class of Social Work 3550: Human Development, on the traditional and unceded territories of the Secwepemc Nation. Adriana Morales, Lily Hall & Matthew Darragh worked collaboratively to research and produce a game that can contribute to knowledge and learning in the Social Work community and beyond………………………………………………………
Adriana Morales & Lily Hall then created a podcast to further their exploration and knowledge around the childhood development stage according to the contextual perspective. This fun and informative podcast is great for future social workers to learn about childhood development application in practice while being culturally aware. After all, everyone is a child at some point! You can listen to this podcast, Contextual Childhood, by clicking the tab up top titled: Podcast.
“The contextual perspective considers the relationship between individuals and their physical, cognitive, and social worlds. It suggests that a person’s unique development cannot properly be viewed without seeing how that person is enmeshed within a rich social and cultural context“
-Robert S. Feldman
